MANUAL electrostatic powder spray booth – CYCLONE recovery

* POWDER SPRAY AND RECOVERY BOOTHS (for powder reuse) fall into 2 main types, depending on the PRIMARY POWDER FILTER/RECOVERY UNIT:
1. FILTER recovery unit – and 2. CYCLONE recovery unit.

1. POWDER SPRAY BOOTH WITH FILTER RECOVERY:

ADVANTAGES: high powder recovery efficiency for reuse – over 98%.
DISADVANTAGES: harder to clean during colour changes, risk of colour contamination. Filters must be replaced when they no longer meet filtration standards.

The booth consists of 2 main parts: the SPRAY BOOTH BODY and the POWDER EXTRACTION/RECOVERY UNIT with primary cartridge filters.
- The booth body must be sized to suit the products to be coated.
- The extraction/recovery unit must have a capacity matched to the booth body size. A large booth body with an undersized recovery unit will result in insufficient extraction, allowing powder to escape and pollute the surrounding area.

2. POWDER SPRAY BOOTH WITH PRIMARY CYCLONE RECOVERY:

ADVANTAGES: very fast cleaning during colour changes. The cyclone is of steel construction, giving a long service life without replacement.
DISADVANTAGES: lower powder recovery efficiency for reuse – only 90~95%.
May cause dust pollution in the surrounding environment unless secondary/tertiary dust filters are added downstream.

The booth consists of the SPRAY BOOTH BODY, CYCLONE SEPARATOR, EXHAUST FAN and SECONDARY DUST FILTER
- The booth body must be sized to suit the products to be coated.
- The exhaust fan, cyclone and secondary dust filter must have capacities matched to the booth body size.
Unsuitable or poorly matched equipment will allow powder to escape and pollute the surrounding area.
